Visiting the synagogue in Hamburg

Dear residents and guests of the city of Hamburg,

are you interested in the Jewish traditions and faith and want to get a deeper insight into everyday Jewish life? We appreciate your interest and extend you a warm welcome!

We ask that you take note of the rules and safety precautions during your visit to the synagogue, during guided tours and while attending the worship services.

General rules in the synagogue:

- Men are required to wear head covering. Kippot can be borrowed in the foyer.

- Female visitors should be wearing appropriate (non-revealing) clothing.
  Shoulders should be covered in order to preserve the dignity of the worship services.

- It is prohibited to bring food and drink into the synagogue.
